Haifa Airport

Haifa Airport is small and convenient. To help you get organized‚ we've prepared a short guide with everything you need to know.

Getting to the Airport

When to arrive?

Haifa Airport isn't Ben Gurion (TLV)‚ and that's part of the charm - the lines are fast and efficient.
You only need to arrive at the check in counters an hour and a half before departure‚ which even leaves you enough time to enjoy a coffee after check in.

Take a safety margin: all passengers must pass security checks‚ even those who checked in at home. So it is especially important to arrive on time.

Directions and Parking

  • By private car: Next to the airport‚ there is a lit‚ organized‚ and free parking lot with about 100 spaces‚ and even free luggage carts. Worried there won't be space? Here's a local's tip: park near the HaMifratz Central Station (Lev HaMifratz) and take Egged line 100‚ which gets to the terminal in just a few minutes.
  • By public transport: Egged line 100 leaves from platform 24 at HaMifratz Central Station every half hour. We recommend checking the schedule on Moovit. You can reach HaMifratz Central Station by public transport from almost anywhere... by train‚ bus‚ Metronit‚ or Cable Express (Rakbalit).
  • By taxi: From home or from HaMifratz Central Station

  • Remember‚ it is your responsibility to ensure your passport is valid for the destination and that you have an entry permit for the destination country (if required). Passports cannot be issued or renewed at the airport.

  • Even if you checked in at home‚ be sure to arrive at least an hour and a half before the flight to go through security.

  • Need to check a bag? Go to the check in counters at the airport‚ where they will tag the suitcase and send it to the aircraft hold.

  • On flights departing from Haifa‚ you can take liquids and creams‚ both in checked baggage and in carry-on bags.

  • We take off on time. It is important to be at the boarding gate no later than the time listed on your boarding pass.

Border Control

The airport has biometric stations where you can scan your passport and get an exit or entry slip. Keep this slip and show it before boarding or upon exiting the airport. Ministry of Interior clerks are also available at border control if assistance is needed.

Duty Free

After security‚ a shop awaits with everything you need to feel on vacation‚ and of course - VAT free: perfumes‚ alcohol‚ cigarettes‚ chocolates‚ toys‚ and more. You can leave your purchases at the airport and pick them up upon returning to Israel. The Duty Free is open around the clock‚ according to flight schedules.

Food and Coffee

At "Cafe Pilpelet" in the departure hall‚ you can treat yourself to good coffee‚ pastries‚ hot toast‚ ice cream‚ or a snack. A designated smoking area is located near the buffet.

Wi-Fi and Charging Points

Free Wi-Fi is available and open to everyone throughout the terminal. If your battery is running low‚ charging stations are available for your convenience.

Getting to the Plane

Our planes park right next to the terminal. To get to the plane‚ simply walk out the gate - no buses or jet bridges.

Accessibility and Assistance

The terminal is convenient and accessible‚ including access paths‚ aisles‚ benches‚ and waiting areas. By law‚ the Airports Authority is responsible for physical accessibility infrastructure and ensures disabled parking and restrooms.

Passengers needing assistance with movement‚ getting to the plane‚ or any other need are asked to update us in advance after booking (up to 48 hours before the flight) so we can prepare suitable assistance. If needed‚ wheelchairs are available throughout the airport.

At all security stations at Haifa Airport‚ there are hearing aid assistive devices with induction loops (Telecoil). To use the device‚ switch it to T mode. Additionally‚ handset devices are available for passengers using different aids.

Flying with Children

The airport is accessible for baby strollers and restrooms are equipped with changing stations. If you wish‚ you can take the stroller up to the boarding gate and hand it over there. Learn more

What's missing? Currency Exchange and Withdrawals

To avoid surprises‚ it's important to know: there are no currency exchange services (Change) or ATMs for foreign currency at the airport. You should take care of this in advance.

Have a pleasant flight!
